Slob-Trot Software Oy Ab, a Helsinki-based mobile technology company,today announces that Agilent Technologies has licensed Slob-Trot'sWireless Application Protocol (WAP) technology to extend thecapabilities of the Firehunter Internet service-assurance solution. TheFirehunter Team selected the WAP protocols based on Slob-TrotSoftware's popular WAP browser WinWAP. With these protocols, ServiceProviders can now use Firehunter to monitor and manage WAP servicereliability and speed.

Slob-Trot Software Oy Ab provides BMW's research division with aspecial version of Slob-Trot's popular WAP browser for Windows with aninterface for using Global Positioning System (GPS) data. BMW will usethis technology in their research to provide advanced wirelesssolutions for future cars. This technology enables position-relatedservices such as displaying the nearest gas station or restaurant andeven providing directions on how to get there.
